Asus ZenBook 13 OLED(UM325)

Asus ZenBook 13 OLED(UM325)

The exceptionally small, thin, and light ZenBook 13 OLED is powered by AMD RyzenTM 5000 Series Mobile Processors for strong all-around performance, and its incredible FHD OLED HDR NanoEdge display offers ultra-vivid pictures with unmatched realism.

It's incredible to see a laptop with an OLED screen for around $1,000. It wasn't long ago that obtaining display technology for less than $2,000 was unfathomable. But Asus, one of the kings of low-cost, portable laptops, is the company I'd put my money on to make a sub-$1,000 OLED a reality. And Asus and AMD are the only companies I'd put my money on to create a sub-$1,000 OLED without a battery life disaster.

Asus has not finalized pricing for all devices, but it is expected to be in the $750 to $1,000 range. The model with AMD's Ryzen 7 5800U, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, as well as the 13.3-inch OLED FHD display, will likely be at the top of that range. The cheapest model, which costs $750, includes a Ryzen 5 5600U processor, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, which are all respectable features for the price. A Ryzen 7 5700U variant is now available for $899.99.

Final Thoughts:

The ZenBook 13 OLED is an excellent bundle for $1,000. In a small and light chassis, you get an efficient eight-core processor and an OLED display. There are some pleasant added perks (the LED numpad, the HDMI) and some negatives (the plastic appearance, the lack of a headphone connection, the awful camera), but the screen and CPU are the key factors. While some of the disadvantages may be deal breakers for certain buyers (they would be for me), others may regard them as fair trade-offs for this performance at this price range. If you're searching for the latter, the ZenBook 13 OLED is a good option.
